PATRICK ROSALEZ holds Masters and Doctoral degrees in viola performance from Arizona State University, where he studied with renowned pedagogue William Magers. While at Arizona State he served as Dr. Magers’ teaching assistant, during which time he studied and assisted in courses in Dounis Pedagogy. He also had the privilege of studying Rolland Pedagogy with Marla Mutschler, co-author of Paul Rolland’s book, The Teaching of Action in String Playing.

Dr. Rosalez performs regularly with the Mozart Classical Chamber Orchestra and the Enchanted Evening Society Orchestra. He has also performed with the Phoenix Symphony, the Arizona Opera Orchestra, and the International Philharmonic of the Americas. Previous summers have been spent performing with the Crested Butte Summer Festival Orchestra, as principal violist of the National Orchestral Institute Orchestra, with the Aspen Festival Orchestra, and with the Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra.

Since moving to Los Angeles in September of 2004, Dr. Rosalez has performed with Josh Groban both at the Greek Theater and at the American Music Awards, Mary J. Blige and Common at the BET Awards Show, Roland Tynan, Russell Watson, Daniel Rodriguez, Roger Williams, and Mannheim Steamroller. In the summer of 2005 he toured Japan as a member of the Percy Faith Orchestra.

An active pedagogue, Dr. Rosalez has taught a number of award-winning violists, including two first-prize winners of the annual Arizona Virtuoso Violas Competition. He has taught master classes at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music, Arizona State University, and the University of Virginia. He has former students attending Northwestern University, Oberlin, the University of Oregon, Arizona State University, and Northern Arizona University as music majors. In February 2006 Dr. Rosalez joined the faculty at the Pasadena Conservatory, where he maintains a studio of 20 students.
